INDIANAPOLIS, IN (March 12, 2010) — Last night, over 800 guests, including Kristen Stewart, Dakota Fanning, Scout Taylor-Compton, Stella Maeve, Tatum O’Neal, Joan Jett, Cherie Currie, Nancy Wilson and Taylor Lautner crowded the Arclight Hollywood Cinerama Dome to attend the Los Angeles film premiere of “The Runaways” where Klipsch was the presenting sponsor. The after party at Cabana Club in Hollywood, also sponsored by the leading speaker brand, indulged A-Listers with premium sound.
"The Runaways," distributed by Apparition, is a music-fueled, coming of age story of the groundbreaking all-girl 1970s rock band. The band members, Joan Jett, (Kristen Stewart), Cherie Currie (Dakota Fanning), Lita Ford (Scout Taylor-Compton) and Sandy West (Stella Maeve) ultimately succeed on their own merits as musicians, becoming the first all-girl rock band to ever break into the world of arena-filling hard rock acts.
According to chairman Judy Klipsch, it made perfect sense for her company to sponsor the Los Angeles movie premiere because Klipsch speakers are—and always have been—the epitome of rock and roll, delivering a sound that’s powerful and direct.
“We’re loud and proud,” she said. “Just like Joan Jett and THE RUNAWAYS, Klipsch’s success lies in a rebellious spirit mixed with a good dose of tenacity. While others have followed the fashion of the moment, Klipsch has followed its own road for over 60 years.”
As part of its involvement, Klipsch is also gifting the film’s lead characters with award-winning product, including the company’s Image headphones and iGroove SXT iPod speakers.
Klipsch is no stranger to star-studded events. Judy Klipsch, along with L.A. event marketing company Explicit Events, has been devoted to creating buzz and awareness for Klipsch speakers by connecting the brand with celebrities at major events, including Sundance, the Academy Awards, MTV Video Music Awards and The American Music Awards.
